The Co-Operative

Retail Acquisition

Sector Three has been working with The Co-Op for a number years searching for and securing suitable properties / land in East Anglia and further afield, as part of The Co-Op's ambitious plans to scale their convenience store portfolio by a 100 stores a year, and become the leading convenience store operator.  We like the Co-Op both as a high quality retail operator, but even more so as a mutual, who generate significant positive impact on community wellbeing through their members reward scheme, Dimec a healthcare technology platform and their Bright Future Programme.

Red Balloon Learner Centres

Office Acquisition

Sector Three Property started working with Red Balloon in 2017, following them receiving notification of their landlords intention to redevelop their existing site at Chesterton Mill in Cambridge.  We launched an extensive search for a new office to house the online division of Red Balloon, Red Balloon of The Air, as well as a new Group HQ.  We now advise them on their centres regionally and are currently working on finding a new space for a satellite office of Red Balloon of The Air in Chelmsford.  Red Balloon provide support young people who self-exclude from school and are missing education because of bullying or other trauma. They provide an academic and therapeutic programme to enable their students to get back on track and reconnect with society.  A fantastic organisation we are very proud to be advising.

BIOS (formerly Cambridge Bio-Augmentation Systems)

Office Acquisition

BIOS are full stack neural interface company, creating the open standard hardware and software interface between the human nervous system and AI.  They are revolutionising how bionics work with the end users experience being the priority.  We met Emil, the dynamic co-founder of BIOS back in 2017 when the organisation occupied a 600 sq ft office at Allia's Future Business Centre in Cambridge.  Sector Three were instructed to find an office in CB1/central Cambridge providing a high quality collaborative 'start-up' environ for staff, space to grow, and flexibility on the lease to break and move, which in a notoriously under supplied office market was a challenging task.  And to add to the challenge BIOS wished to co-locate with CCG, a cancer genomics start up.  After an extensive search BIOS set up home in a fully fitted out 4,250 sq ft office on the first floor of 72 Hills Road, alongside neighbours, and 'friends' Cambridge Cancer Genomics.

Cambridge Cancer Genomics

Office Acquisition

Cambridge Cancer Genomics (CCG) is a Y Combinator backed healthtech startup building tools to enable oncologists to make the best therapeutic decisions for their patients.  Sector Three advised CCG on the acquisition of part first floor of 72 Hills Road as part of a challenging, but exciting project to co-locate CCG alongside a fellow tech start up BIOS in a grade A office on Hills road that provided a commensurate environ to grow, attract and retain new staff.  They are revolutionising how Machine Learning can improve the efficacy of cancer treatments - all round impressive 'tech for good' venture.
